Dr. Lowe is the new Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and the Head of Orthopedic Surgery at Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center and LBJ General Hospital. He is also the Medical Director of the Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine Institute.
Dr. Lowe specializes in sports medicine with an emphasis on diagnosing and treating a wide range of knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries and disorders.
He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and also holds a Sub-specialty Certification in Sports Medicine. Dr Lowe serves as the Head team Physician for the Houston Texans, the Head
Team Physician for the University of Houston, the Houston Rockets, and Strake Jesuit and North Shore high schools.
Dr. Lowe is an Associate Professor, Department of Orthopedic Surgery for the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr Lowe is the former Director of Baylor Sports Medicine Fellowship and the former Chief of the Sports Medicine Section.
Dr. Lowe is on active staff with The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, Memorial Hermann Hospital and Kirby Surgical Center.
Dr. Lowe received a B.A. from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. After completing his internship at John Peter Smith Hospital and a residency at Tarrant County Affiliated Hospitals in Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Lowe completed a fellowship at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California. Dr Lowe spent a year studying under the Famous Sports Medicine Baseball surgeon Dr. Frank Jobe.
Dr. Lowe is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, fellow American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, fellow American College of Sports Medicine, NFL team Physicians Society, ACL Study Group.
