Meniscal Transplants

For many patients, due to various reasons, they no longer have enough meniscus left to protect their knee and allow for normal daily activities.  When this is the case, a meniscal transplant may be recommended by Dr. Lowe.

Indications for a meniscal transplant are as follows:

-         Absence of adequate amount of meniscus tissue.
-         Pain
-         Must have good articular surfaces.  Arthritic patients are not good candidates for this procedure.

Dr. Lowe will discuss with you any recommendations, indications and precautions if he feels this procedure is something that you may require.
